I‘m thinking about getting the new Steamdeck OLED to play some games when i‘m not home. Is it worth it, if i‘m used to gaming in 1440p ultra settings with 144+ FPS? or will i be disappointed? From what i‘ve seen on YouTube, most triple A games don‘t really look that good and run with like 30FPS on the Steamdeck.

If you’re used to 1440p ultra settings at 120fps and unwilling to consider low settings at 30-40fps in exchange for portability, no handheld is gonna be good for you. The Deck generally gets 30-40 on low-medium settings in most current gen/ps5 era games, and the windows handhelds can sometimes get 35-50 on the same settings, but rarely reach 60 in current gen.

1440p ultra above 100fps is strictly expensive gaming laptop territory there for even a modicum of portability, or gaming desktop territory if you don’t care about being portable.
