Hello! Sorry for coming out of nowhere but I saw the launch of the Steam Deck Oled and I jumped on the opportunity to get one for my husband, but I’m super tech illiterate.
The thing is, we live in Chile and our 220V/50Hz, Im getting the USA version thanks to a friend and I’m a bit scared about the whole voltage thing. I’ve read on some places there are usb c (I think, like the switch charger?) that can handle and adapt 220v. I would like to know if that’s real or if I can use any other usb c to charge it with my current voltage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don’t want hubby’s gift to burn on Christmas Day.
The default US Deck charger runs at 100-240v and 50-60hz according to the text on the bottom of mine. This means that the voltages will be fine assuming you have an adapter to plug it into your wall physically.
Can also use any USB-C charger that puts out at least 15v at 3a with USB PD protocols too.
