Especially right now when there are 4 people in my ward snoring in the middle of the night and I just had surgery and can’t sleep.

Brooooooooo I was in your position 3.5 months ago. I had a switch instead and it helped me so much not think about the pain especially after surgery. The external fixator wasn’t bad but the surgery and pain following was immense. Nerve block helped so much.

I have been walking for two weeks now and am almost back to normal and doing PT. It sucked but TOTK and subnautica helped me through the days. Hope you feel better OP. It gets better as I’m sure you’re reading.

I can totally relate. When I had to undergo major emergency surgery and had to stay in hospital for two weeks, my best friend gave me his (then still new) OG Playstation Portable and Burnout Legends.

Best wishes for a good recovery!

Same situation as you two years ago…Had to keep my legs propped up and iced every few hours. Hopefully the swelling comes down soon and its great that you have your steam deck to block out those sights.

Having something in front of me helped me a lot from those intrusive thoughts. I was also in a ward with 6 others. I still don’t know how I lived through 2 weeks with those things sticking out of my leg. All the best ya! Glad that you have completed the surgery!

I feel for you, just had a surgery myself and also can’t sleep. My deck+xreal air are a miracle for killing time and getting a distraction from pain.

Do you know what? If this means you have the time to get into Disco Elysium and you wouldn’t have otherwise, this situation could be a net positive. That’s how good that game was.
