Is this standard or did I get lucky ? I brought in my phone to get the battery replaced and was told that while fixing it they accidentally stripped the screws. The genius offered me a brand new iPhone for the price of a battery repair. My phone has never had apple care and is out of warranty.
As a former apple “genius”, I can verify this is standard procedure. I used to “accidentally” break the battery tab and replace phones for the cost of the battery if the person was nice. Whoops 😜
