Yeah it’s 100% about branding it absolutely worked. Apple’s blue iMessages has essentially created a social class divide in the US where most people are texting and not using third party messaging apps.
Not really. Only silly teenage minded folks care about that in the states. There is no social class divide upon most classes. Everyone that has a more developed brain just doesn’t care and globally it doesn’t matter at all really. Apple just kept it for a very specific class, but it would be disingenuous to say it created a social divide as if it affects people socially over most classes classes that aren’t around teenage age.
