I keep reading that the switch to USB on iphone is great because now we can carry around just one charger.

Is this really the case for most people? My MacBook is USB C, but other than that and my Nintendo Switch I don’t think I own anything that uses USB C - at least not stuff I would consider daily carry.

Airpods pro - lightning/wireless Ipad - lightning Apple watch - proprietary charger

Don’t get me wrong, I like the switch to USB, but for me it means one more cable.

Yup. Every single device I own uses USB-C (the last thing is my airpods pros but I charge them using magsafe so that’s fine).

Really the rest of the tech world moved to USB-C and Apple was one of the few still holding on to an old port.

To be clear though, I LOVE the lightning cable. My only gripe was the USB 2.0 aspect of it. Had Apple simply upgraded it to USB 3.0 or USB 3.2, etc to match current day transfer speeds, I wouldn’t have much of an issue with it.
