In the middle of buying a new phone, currently using A51 for 2.8 years.

I am between:

● S22 ultra, 256 GB, currently 659 euros un my country. ● S23 + , 256 GB 739 euros.

This is as low as they can get, even with Black Friday deals.

Other options:

● S21 ultra 465 euros (128 GB) or 509 euros (256 GB). ● S23 ultra 256 GB is 799 euro (8GB) or 839 (12 GB) .

My original price target was <600 euros but since I plan to keep the same phone for at least 3 years, I’d rather spend a little more now.

I am not a heavy user, no games. I mostly use my phone for social networks, emails, and music (bluetooth). I tend to take a lot of photos since I travel a lot so I’d like a battery that does not need to be charged during the day. Don’t really care about quality, since I never post them.

I have been reading mixed reviews for all these phones.

S21 Ultra is the best option in every way except the chip, which the S23+ excels at. The S22 Ultra shouldn’t even be an option

23+! The chipset is great, and the Ultra’s are very big and heavy and uncomfortable to hold for a lot of people, so I don’t recommend them for anyone that isn’t a power user tbh

This one is hard and will lind of go against everyone else above.

If I was going to answer this normally, I would spout the same as everyone else and go with the 23. Easy choice because the gains for the difference in price is just a no Brainer.

But you added not a heavy user and tdlr use the phone like a hip grandma. So that changes things. You don’t even need the 21.

If you want to go with bang for buck, 23. If you want to go by numbers, 21. If you want to go by pure data, neither, something lower tier as it doesn’t matter in your case.

When you do commit to the 21 or 23, you are going to notice it being vastly snappier and faster and more clear etc. All the basics but better. You’ll think about what you’ve been missing all this time.

Fast forward a few months and you’ll get used to it. You have a new basic and odds are you can’t go backwards. If you do, it will ge mire dreadful than not.

Tdlr. You have a non fast phone but you’re used to it and only use it for basic use. If you never know, you don’t know.

Obviously it’s better to get the better phone cause it’s faster and better. But using it for basic stuff has diminishing returns.

Take your pick of the two. Red or blue pill?

I’d keep my A51 if it was not for the fact that it overheats to the point of not being able to keep it in hands and that it freezes or takes 30-60 seconds to open tha camera and saves photos. The battery is not the best but it last until I get back from work.

Overwall it’s a good phone for my needs. I’ve only used 2.8/4 GB and 72/128 GB and I have my data of +7 years here (I back up my photos to Google Photos).

I have not downloaded a game or seen a movie in years.

But you can’t keep it hence your post. I say widen your horizon and go with the 23 and see what’s up. Start playing more games and watching movies etc etc.

Go from there. If you want a snapiier phone go with better. If ut doesn’t matter to you, go back with mid tier.

I’d personally go for the S23+

However you could also wait for the s24 launch it’s not that far off unless you absolutely need a phone right now

I’m a very happy use of an S22 Ultra. The problems reported seem to be related to the processor manufacturer that is sold in some countries.

If you have the chance, go to a store and check both S22 Ultra and S23+.

    S23 ultra 256 GB with 839 (12 GB) OR S23 + 256 GB

I think the only thing u need to consider is the weight of the phone and the camera. Here are the specs for both phones

For now, only S23 series has the best battery life.

I will pick 22 ultra for camera zoom capability. I am using s23+. The camera is good, but it has a problem focusing on close objects due to bigger aparture. There is a software solution for s23 ultra but not yet for s23+.

For anything other than the camera, i will choose s23+
