Maybe you mainly type with your left thumb, if you even type with your thumbs at all. My right thumb does most of the work when typing, and I hit the period button 9/10 times and have done so since probably my first iPhone.

Then try single-tapping it. Both work for me, but the single tap is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes it’s impossible to move the typing indicator because it keeps highlighting whatever word is closest, other times it works first try. But I can definitely still highlight words in both ways.

Just use Siri or speech to text if you’re that lazy lmao.

Have you updated to the newest version of iOS? I had slightly similar issues - not quite the same, and they went away with an update. My phone was nowhere near as bad as what you described, though, so maybe yours is actually defective.

Yeah exactly. Personally I set my search engine to DuckDuckGo, but I still use Google 99% of the time by starting my search with !g, so even if I hit a few periods, my search usually goes through fine.

The period next to the space bar only appears in Safari, I don’t see how that’s such a big deal to you. It is annoying as hell, but just how often are you typing things in Safari? There’s no period next to space in iMessage or Reddit or any other non-browser app that I can think of. Weird how you titled your post “its keyboard is shockingly bad” and then you go on to mention one tiny thing that doesn’t make the keyboard as a whole bad.

You can! You don’t even need to wait or pay for anything, you can have PPSSPP and any other emulator on your phone in a matter of minutes.

You won’t get that even if you sideload, lol. Have fun paying a monthly fee to be able to watch YouTube videos without being bombarded by cancerous ads, though! I’m enjoying the ad-free experience with my sideloaded YouTube app, all the while being “break-in”-free since the day I first downloaded an emulator.
