Valve never wanted to be the leader in the handheld market. The wanted to show other vendors that it can be done and hoping they run with it, which they are. They just want to sell the software so they win no matter what. You’re not going to see a steam deck 2 anytime soon and I doubt you’ll ever see a steam deck 3.
I had left my switch in the seat and walked back in as soon as I got off the plane and an employee had taken it. I was told by the airline that it was at lost and found and they didn’t have it. The employee took it. Then later that night I got a notification that my account was signed out. Even if you walk away from it for a second it may disappear.
Losing a switch 2 years ago sucked, id probably have a heart attack if I lost my steam deck.
They don’t offer a trade in program because they don’t sell used decks and you don’t need one.
