If you play Deck verified games then I believe Valve has done the background work to make it run well on the deck. Other games will play but you may have to spend some time tweaking things to get it working well. This is not always the case but I think might be considered a “rule of thumb”.

The Deck is a couch device for me when I feel like veggin on the couch playing a casual game. I use my PC for gaming most of the time because I’ve spent far too much on it.

I just sold one and did a factory reset which, as I understand with other devices, takes an image from onboard non volatile memory, wipes out the hard drive, and installs that image. That’s why after a factory reset you have to update all over again because that image is the original one that came with the device. You will be fine with a factory reset.

I have a 13700k not overclocked and a 4090 and I don’t see a bottleneck at all, everything runs very well. Is something else happening you may not be recognizing? Upgrading to a 14 series won’t do much for you expect cost you money, by all accounts it would be closer to a “sideways” upgrade over an actual increase in performance.

Mines been like this the whole time, still same as of this morning. I am in Canada so I’m guessing I’ll see it late next week or the week after.

I don’t think Canada is getting any until early or mid next week at the earliest.
