Years ago I might have fought you on this, but I’ve started to realize with some reflection that first party Sony titles are almost all universally experiences you primarily watch rather than play. Sure, you make inputs and control characters and actions and… whatever… but in reality the game play of most is just universally thin and you are meant to enjoy the spectacle rather than the mechanics. Like playing a “choose your own adventure” movie with big names and big explosions.
The battery life and efficiency upgrades were enough to convince me to upgrade to the OLED. I can say so far I have not been disappointed. I’ve gone from historically always having to be close to a charger to never being near one during my nightly gaming sessions. It’s also made grabbing it and throwing it in my work bag that much easier because I don’t feel nearly as much battery anxiety. The screens aiight, too, I guess.
