I have been screwing around with trying to pull a old chip off a spent filter and failing. It tears so easily. However if you do that it still says 0. I swear the first filter killed the ice maker when it expired, but the later filters dont appear so?

Either way super upset about it.

Problem with the newer GEs is they put a authentication chip on the filters. But you can get a bypass if you dont want to use the filters.
