Like all the other handhelds the ROG Ally just needs Steam OS and then it will be great. Hope that Valve pushes for general release when OLED is safely out of the door 🤞

No, it is a very nice offering but my main use case of handhelds turns out to be gaming while being more social towards the family, i.e., couch gaming. And I find that I end up playing the more demanding AA+ games so I need a significant jump in processing power to consider an upgrade.
