Yes, the Snapdragon 8gen1 was fabricated by Samsung foundries and is known to be inefficient and run warm. This was fixed in the s23 series with the 8gen2 which was fabricated by TSMC who produce good, efficient and cool SOCs.
I’ve had one since launch and to me the device is ageing now, the 6 classics display is much better and slightly larger. When the 6 classic gets reduced for Black Friday, I’ll buy it to replace the 4 classic.
The Good Luck Devs said a while ago that they’re giving it a big overhaul so I imagine it might be a while before it works again.
