$50 is a putrid “offer” on Samsung’s end. Verizon could offer some deals for something as old as the S8 too, but I am not quite sure. Challenge is if you buy outright, you’d have to wait to get it unlocked.
Check out Best Buy for a fully unlocked version of the S23+ as another option. Same with Amazon. Best Buy offers price matches for about 14 days I think, so you might be able to get in some early holiday pricing too while not having to wait to get a good working phone.
Hmm, if it’s not feasible to get your $ back, ask for additional compensation in a form of a partial refund or something to make it worth more of your time and troubles.
If not, I’d see if you can get the S23+ elsewhere or pivot to another model in stock, like the S23 base.
Why would it take a S23+ well over a month to be delivered? Might want to consider other avenues to get one and get your $ back from the original point of purchase.
I’d back your important items to the cloud and MicroSD, then factory reset the phone to use in the meantime. Sorry, but sounds like the phone is really on its last legs and you need to find an alternative asap.
Even with a discount on the $700 USD price point, Chromebooks can start way lower price point wise, as low as like $100-200 USD with some mid-rangers in the $300-400 USD price point.
Some places could go Apple, but it’s hard to usurp Google’s foothold in the K-12 space.
I just hope they don’t follow Microsoft’s idiocy with releasing Surface Laptop Go’s without backlit keyboards for like $700.
The OLED Deck is an awesome option. However, OG Deck owners have the benefit of knowing that the newer hardware isn’t going to be a considerable difference in the # of playable games.
As nice as VRR and 90Hz OLED tech would be in my day to day, the price difference isn’t worth the upgrade for me. I’ll enjoy my Deck until the SD2 comes out.
