Oled is much more than a subpixel layout ehich can differ per screen, purpose and usecase. Subpixel layouts are often selected on balance and subpixel durability. Some oled colors wear out faster, thats why they make some larger or smaller to balance things out.

It is a established fact that the chinese stole oled trchnology from samsung.

They didnt do it for the original lcds.

The normal Oled variants seem to be there in abundance, could order 1 now and get it between 6 and 9 days later.

You know, you just can boot Steam in big picture mode on Windows as well right. If you want you can have the same experience. But now you are able to play games that you cannot play on the Steamdeck.

Sold my Steamdeck, happy with my Asus ROG Ally 5 months since I got it. Dont act like SteamOS didn’t had it’s flaws, especially at launch. Eventually I even isntalled Windows on my steamdeck because I got tired of games not working with Proton.

I didnt use one, it affects brightness and contrast a little bit but also induces more glare. It stays always in a case anyway so I didnt opt for a protector. All my devices look like new still. Just I dont drop 'm.
