I got 3 dead sub-pixel (only shows certain colors) and many faint pixels on my BOE panel. Do you think we can ask Valve to just send a Samsung glossy panel with DIY kit instead sending the whole machine?

Seriously, I don’t want to send back my current Limited Edition. Everything but the panel is perfect.

    What makes a BOE panel more prone to have dead pixel? Do they not do a good job vetting their screens, unlike Samsung or something?

    Part of the RMA process on Valves end is investigating issues and getting refunds from the manufacturer where applicable. For both they need the screen.

    So I doubt they’d agree to it.

    I doubt it. If you want to replace it yourself, you’ll have to wait for iFixit to get replacement OLED screens. No idea when that’ll be.

    they also had samsung etched glass panels in regular 1tb, also screen replacement is extremely invasive/destructive I doubt they would elect for this. Its basically the most highly likely way to damage components
