It’s easy to get caught up in the fear mongering on this subreddit, but if it doesn’t bother you, just hang onto it for now.

If you send it now, you’ll just get a replacement unit, which could also have dead pixels or a more serious issue. If the only problem with your current unit is a dead pixel that doesn’t bother you, then hang onto it for now.

If it becomes a bigger problem down the line, you’ll still be able to RMA it, and worse case, self repair options will eventually become available as well.

  • I’m giving it a few days. I have 1 dead pixel, but I don’t usually notice it unless I look for it. I have no interest in playing the screen lottery for something that has no real impact on me.

If by next week I find in bothers me too much I might look into sending it in but right now it doesn’t seem worth the hassle as currently the dead pixel is the only problem I’ve noticed.

  • If you could just take this to a store and exchange it, I’d say go for it.

But in this case, it really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine has a dead pixel around the center of the screen, and I usually only notice when I go looking for it.

I’ll give it a few days to see if it starts to bother me, but if not, I don’t think it’s worth playing the screen lottery given how long I’d be stuck without a deck.

If it’s not noticeable, it’s probably not worth playing the screen lottery. People like to obsess over it, but most of the time, you won’t notice if you don’t look for it.

Heck, I had a Vita with a very obvious dead pixel, and it still barely affected my enjoyment.
