I hope SteamDeck 2 comes with VRR screen, that would fix this out the box right?

Something that could be huge for you is the sleep feature. One button then you can put it away and help the kids. One button and you are gaming again.

Can laptops just close the lid to sleep and open the lid later to continue the game?

The latency is surprisingly good compared to what I expected.

Purchased day of (Thursday) at the time said “2 to 4 weeks”, but packaged and shipped next day (Friday). Said would arrive Monday, but I checked and saw it just a couple cities over (Southern California). Next day (Saturday) it was out for delivery. In my head I thought “It’s going to get delayed or they are just being hopeful”. Showed up that evening, less that 3 full days later.

This was an amazing experience, considering I thought they would sell out of the model I wanted. Especially after waiting a year for the first model to ship, this was a very refined process in comparison.

Both my 512GB LCD late last year and the OLED this year came in the same basic brown box.

It does include battery flammable warnings that could indicate electronics inside. The shape is uniquely long, so you may be able to tell the item by box shape to some degree. There is a small “Easter egg” or two featuring the companion cube on the outside of the box that is subtle but confirms the contents.

UPS shipping tracker noted it required a signature, but we didn’t need to sign either time.
