My new LE OLED Deck has a few red sub-pixels that are dead, and I’ve seen reports around this sub of others with similar issues. It almost seems like it is being mentioned more for specific models. So, I’m curious…. If you got a new Steam Deck OLED what model did you get and how is your screen?
If you haven’t checked and don’t know how it is pretty easy. Just go to desktop mode, install and open Firefox, then go to this website to check:
No issues with my LE.
Same here. Haven’t seen any and some little dust specks have made me paranoid but nothing that seems legit.
LE = Lottery Edition
None on my limited ed. There were none on my lcd either.
Why does this only happen on Le lol
Not the same provider?
Dat BOE panel. Lol @ everyone trying to say it didn’t matter if you get a Samsung or BOE screen, yet here we are. Every dead pixel issue I’ve seen is the LE edition with a BOE screen.
No dead pixels on my LE.
Tested mine with the link, found no issues, LE model. Thanks for sharing.
Those orange screws must have bad juju
512 model and no dead pixels…phew
Seems like for some reason it’s only a problem with LE
Most likely because most/all LE Decks use BOE panels and other editions use Samsung panels.
512 here and no dead pixels
Just checked my 512gb and all seems good. Real shame that the quality control slipped on the displays
I have 1 dead pixel on my LE
Ditto
Yes my LE has a dead red subpixel in the corner of the screen
Sounds like you’ll be seeking redemption. Buh dum tsss.
