Thats absolutely BS. While I also do not expect an updated model very soon, the price would absolutely not be as high. The A15 was (iirc) estimated to cost between 50 and 70USD to manufacture. Athe A16 was at ~110 while the A17 was at ~150 for the highest estimates. While this could result in a worst case 100USD price increase, that is still far away from PS5 prices.
The only area where the new generation is exciting is the high end. The 4090 offered a great jump from the previous generation and was a much better card than the 3090 was relative to the rest of the product portfolio.
