There are some awesome features on iPhone. But Android does what I want it to, not what Apple thinks is best.

On my list is muting by app, or defaulting all apps to muted until toggled on like Chrome tabs. It’s so nice to not have random ads blow up my music or podcast. Also then maybe Spotify won’t take over audio in my car.

Verizon just gave me $800 for a Pixel 5 to upgrade to a Pixel 8 for $869 (before trade in) over 3 years.

So I’m paying like $1.60 a month for the Pixel 8. If I have to take that back due to an issue screen, I will continue to appreciate my $60 Pixel.

That does not mean this issue is ok, just that my circumstances (and anyone willing to run Verizon) should see if they can get a steal via an old used phone traded in for basically a new phone.
