Eh I got the 1tb ssd only because I had the 64 gb model. Honestly though I haven’t really noticed a big difference between launching them from the 1tb micro or the 1tb ssd. The big question is if you really want to put the time into switch out the ssd. I found it pretty easy, flashing the os was the hardest part but even that wasn’t too bad. It’s really nice having 1tb of both too.
I was a console only player that dabbled in pc games. I’m pretty glad that I got deck though, it’s kind of changed the entire way that I play pc games. It’s all personal preference, though.
This are great cards for the price. I use a 1tb in my switch of this one and a 512gb for my deck, will be getting another 1tb soon for ol decky
Take into consideration a controller wont sit up at your face, atleast not for any significant amount of time. And a phone weighs hardly anything and needs less focus than a video game. Steam deck is a little weighty and more than often will be brought closer to your face to focus better bending your arms at the elbows, causing the sleepy feeling in them
As a switch gamer myself, I’d grab beyond contact, it’s a really beautiful isometric base building type of game that’s very pleasant to play.

ROG is trash. I spent 1600 on the zehpyrus g14 2022 gaming laptop. Sold it for 600 bucks and bought a steam deck. That pretty much wraps up how bad ROG is
Try to play sons of the forest without it. Then run it, and try again. You’ll immediately see the difference it makes. As one user said it only makes a difference with some games. But the games it does help, man does it help. It’s not a placebo. It’s a software helper for more demanding games. Dude who said it was just a placebo probably also didn’t know how it worked.

Eh I’m pretty happy with my upgraded 64gb model myself, though I’m a bit salty that it hasn’t really been all that long since I bought it, and valve saying there wouldn’t be any upgrades or anything new for years to come, then a month later releasing something new while also doing a price drop on the 512 gb model which is now the same price as the 64 gb model. And the 64 gb model is now cheaper as well, that bit was pretty screwed up. But I can agree with what youce said, respect for not upping the price like nintendo did.
No valve said they put a bigger battery in it, a bigger fan to keep it cooler, plus oled has lower power consumption. Depending on how you’re using it you could push around 50% more battery out of it. But honestly ove heard you can just upgrade the battery in the older decks too.
Good choice. I bought the newer oled switch and honestly, other than screen, there is no difference between the two systems. It’s still running all the same hardware with the same cheap easy to break controllers. In fact about 2 weeks after I got mine the joy con’s started messing up. And Nintendo is a joke putting those cheap paper weights at 80 bucks lol
I mean considering you just got it and haven’t really set anything up on it, yes I would. I’ve had mine about 2 months now and have spent allot of time with both hardware and software so, no. If I can save up I’ll get the new one and have two but, I wouldn’t trade my decky Boi that I’ve put all this love into for the new Shiney one. But yours is fresh man, the new one looks pretty dazzly.

I like the sentiment here. I’d love to save up for an oled but, by no means will I give up on my first decky boy. It’s special to me with all the work I’ve done on it.
