I don’t think they’re going to raise the price of 5090 much if at all. By making it seem like a good deal they’re normalizing $1600 cards to people who would otherwise have gone for $800-$1200 tier cards. The 4090 sold better than the 3090 did on the steam survey despite being a newer card. My bet is between $1600 and $1800 for the 5090.
Not so much GPUs themselves but GPU shader compilers really struggle on some code with a lot of branching and loops, operating on strings.
