What device I want next? An iPhone mini.
The big reason that’s stopping me from upgrading into the numbered iPhones are the size (and the price, but I can just collect more money tbh). I will never use a phone larger than the iPhone SE, ever.
That’s an old practice that is no longer needed today. The batteries that was being used in older battery tech has a chemistry in them that you need to calibrate the first time you use it (the discharging and charging you mentioned there).
Newer battery tech don’t need to do this anymore.
I’m glad Valve took the battery life feedback to heart. While this battery life upgrade isn’t quite to the level where I am comfortable yet, this is a step in the right direction; a battery life upgrade without putting in more battery life guzzling features. This is a very good upgrade.
Not using an iPhone 15, nor does this have to do with iOS 17 either.
