No, not really. I bought it to play games on the go.

I haven’t had any problems with phone reception in the European cities I’ve been to in recent years, or in the one I currently live in. I don’t live in the biggest city, but it’s still about as dense as London.

The only problem I have, is that bluetooth headphones drop out pretty often when public transit passes by.

I think my country rates in the top 5 worldwide for mobile internet speeds, though, so maybe we just have a lot more cell towers per person (or rather, fewer people per tower) than what’s normal.

edit: I was wrong, but that’s because most of the top 5 spots are filled by really small but oil-rich countries.

No, I don’t think I deserve an oled any more than i deserve a ferrari. A steam deck, even the lcd version, is a luxury item for people who have money to spare.

So with the midrange having “premium performance”, what sort of performance will the high end have? Ultra premium?

Geez, what a non-statement. Low end smartphones have premium performance compared to high end smartphones 8 years ago. They’re basically just saying “technology will advance next year too”.

If you’re the kind of guy who never brings their laptop outside their home, then a Steam Deck with an external mouse, keyboard and display can probably replace a laptop.

If you want to use the Steam Deck as anything other than a gaming device outside of your home, you’re going to have a bad time.

Maybe it’s not worth it to them

Most people’s comments on anything is their personal opinion of whatever thing it is. I’m not typically going around giving other people’s opinions on games I’ve played, for example. If I am, I’d also be stating that it’s not my personal opinion.

When people say Steam Deck 1.5 isn’t worth, it’s almost certainly implied that it’s not worth it to them.

If you have a dock, your gamepad does not have to be USB. It also does not have to be Bluetooth.
