I’m not a Linux expert so I cannot comment on game compatibility with SteamOS but what I can say is that Steam has a great return policy. You can refund a game if you have not played it for more than 2 hours. If you end up buying a game that does not work, or does not work well with the Steam Deck, just request for a refund.
As for which version to buy, I highly suggest you get the OLED one. Aside from the main upgrade – the screen, most reviews and user testimonials say that battery life is improved. I am an LCD Steam Deck user and is seriously thinking of upgrading because of the upgraded battery.
