I managed to not buy any! I’m currently chewing on Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries

I’m playing through just one, though that tends to just be my usual method of play. Right now, it’s Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries with a slightly modded playthrough of the campaign.

• Deckyloader? – No. Used it briefly for DeckyRecorder then uninstalled after.
• Lutris or Heroic? – Yes to Lutris. I haven’t tried anything with Heroid yet.
• Sleep mode? – Typically, yes. It’s rare I’ll ever fully shut it down.
• Plugged in? – I’ll only plug it in when the battery gets low and it needs to charge.
• Computer use? – Nope, I use it purely for gaming.
• Long sessions? – Frequently. There’s also short burst sessions, but when I’m sitting down to play, I anticipate an hour or more.

So, Mechwarrior, hear me out. You’ve got an iconic start up sequence that’s just long enough to be a Deck boot window. Maybe we could explore something around those lines, hmmmmm?

I’ve been going over this video several times this week, just looking at and tweaking settings to get to where I want it to be. It’s been eye-opening to discover what’s possible!

I do desktop support—among other things—as a day job and my poor experiences with working with Windows is the reason all my home PCs are Linux.

I hate “doing work” on my non-work machines.

I’ve heard Borderlands 3 runs great

I’m planning on upgrading because I can justify it. I use my Deck constantly, and know my son would get immense use out of one if he had it, so he’ll inherit my current Deck, and I’ll get a new OLED model for myself.

The 64 and 512 LCD models are “until stock runs out”. The offerings after that point will be a 256GB LCD, 512GB OLED, and 1TB OLED (plus whatever refurbished units they have).
