How about Linux OS. If you’re not tied to any proprietary software, go with Linux: Slightly less resourse hungry than windos (depending on what you do with it), Secure without having to buy all the anti virus that Windows needs. Cheaper than Apple (nearly all software is free), More stable, No compulsory updates. You can make a Linux system behave and look like either a Windows or Apple system. There are literally dozens of Linux ‘Flavours’ to suit you needs.
Just pay for your hardware, make it behave how you want, don’t update if you don’t want to, trust that your data isn’t being collected & analyzed by others without your permission.
I’m guessing you’re running Microsoft Windows? Download Linux (Mint is my choice) and build a live USB. You might get a pleasant surprise.
My first 10" Acer lasted 11 years, then just got too slow. The second lasted eight before the case fell apart. This year I switched to Lenovo. All running Linux.
