It does. With proton, each game runs in its own “prefix” (basically like a fake C:/ drive) which is where the launcher is installed. When you uninstall a game, the prefix gets deleted as well (it didn’t used to)
GTA V’s prefix should be located under .steam/root/steamapps/compatdata/271590/pfx/ if you want to check for it (make sure “Show hidden files” is enabled in the file manager)
Not sure what the range is but from this interview it sounds like the way 40fps will work is by running the display at 80Hz and just doubling each frame

Usually when Steam forces Proton even though the game has a Linux version, it means the Linux build has some sort of issue. You can still try it anyway by choosing “Steam Linux Runtime” in the Compatibility tab though
A Valve developer said it should work if you update to the final 3.5 build when it’s released
Not sure but probably something Valve could implement in gamescope if they wanted
It shouldn’t matter as long as the resolution is lower than native. If you set the performance overlay to level 4 it’ll tell you if FSR is being used or not.
Search for “Nested Desktop” in the start menu and right-click it/add to Steam. Then return to game mode and run it.
This lets you launch the desktop as an app in game mode, so it should keep the same color settings.
