Backstory:

I’m looking for Christmas 🎁 ideas for myself to share with my spouse. I have a 512 SD that I purchased a couple months ago all original. It was to replace my modded 3DS that I used for emulation. Well I have thoroughly enjoyed my SD and have been playing games I never thought I would play eg. Steamworld Dig and Dying Light are my current go tos.

Issue: I solely play in handheld mode. This is not an issue while playing games like Steamworld Dig because I could play a couple days in one charge but Dying Light is another story. I’m not exactly sure how long the battery last but I would estimate around 2 hrs.

  1. Does performance change when running on external battery pack?

Solutions/Your suggestions: I think my best solution is to get a battery pack that will attach to the SD itself.

  1. So what’s a good battery pack that won’t break the bank but will work for my needs?

  2. What’s your go to docking station? I could use this some but will probably use handheld the majority of the time.

PS 4. I know the SD battery is around 5500 maH so would a 1100 maH double my playtime?

My favorite SD accessory are mine Sehnheiser noice canceling earplugs, gives so much more immersion and although the SD speakers are surprisingly good, the sound with good earplugs is so much better! Second is the official dock, works like a charm!

The baseus 65 watt battery pack was the one everyone was recommending a while back, not sure if there are better options no.

You might also consider just getting another charger with a longer cable if you play near an outlet. Then you don’t have the added weight hanging off the deck.

A 65w USBC charger and a 10ft cord. Wireless earbuds, and a nice pillow to rest you arms on.

Jsaux Transparent backplate. I have the clear one w/ out the extra fan holes. Removed the thermal pad inside to keep the original air flow.

It’s just genuinely cool to see the consoles internal build whenever I want

Yo, I have a jsaux dock, and I love it. Steam literally released their dock a month later 😅. However, now jsaux sells a dock with internal storage and THAT sounds freaking cool. I use my deck in hand held mode a lot to stream titles like doom and stuff. It works SO WELL. If I had a dock With storage idk what I would do with it, but I’ve been considering 64 gb lcd steamdeck was gifts and getting some storage docks for them in the future

I think you would like the jsaux modcase, with it you can attach basically anything to it, e.g: external ssd, powerbank, fan. Something like those things
