I use the official dock and it comes with an additional charger. The official charger alone is worth the money in my opinion. The docks works great and get frequent firmware updates.

My experience with Beanng.drive was not very good, eternal loading screens and very low fps, i did a refund unfortunately. Is it better optimized for the deck nowadays?
Wreckfest is an absolute blast on the SteamDeck, runs great and looks amazing! Dirt Rally 2.0 is also great!!
Unconventional: Horizon Chase Turbo is a great Retro racing game ( Outrun style) with absolute brilliant music, headphones on recommended!!
My favorite SD accessory are mine Sehnheiser noice canceling earplugs, gives so much more immersion and although the SD speakers are surprisingly good, the sound with good earplugs is so much better! Second is the official dock, works like a charm!
Got the update yesterday and love the new visuals. The new color-options made decky plugin Vibrantdeck obsolete in mine opinion.
GTA4 (a very grey and dull looking game sometimes) looks warmer and sharper, got a cap on 40 FPS so don’t know if fps is boosted after the update.
TMNT shredders Revenge looks also so much better, colors are so much warmer and cleaner.
Feels indeed as a brand new SteamDeck!
There are so many games that are a blast to play on the SteamDeck, it depends mostly on your taste and favorite game genres.
My absolute favorite games on the deck are:
Sleeping Dogs, GTA4, GTA5, TMNT Shredders Revenge, RDR2, Hades, Streets of rage 4.
The Xbox controller (the series version) works just great.
There is no lag and the button layout is exactly the same as on the deck itself (that is based on the Xbox layout).
Maybe the only downside is the fact that on the normal Xbox controller there are no ‘backbuttons’, any functions assigned to these buttons are lost when playing with a controller.
I just love mine 1,5 year old LCD Steamdeck, don’t feel any urge to buy the OLED, why should I? I can play my favorite games on the move, on the couch and in bed.
Especially with the new 3.5.5 update the lcd screen is wonderful and more than satisfied with it.
There always be something newer, better or different, for now I stick with my old faithful SteamDeck.
The game I sincerely missed on the console was a decent truck simulator as ETS2 or ATS, on console there are only mediocre truck simulators. When I got my SteamDeck I finally could play the real truck sims and i’am having a blast! Hopefully one day SCS will release on console (they mentioned something like that after the game engine is updated).
There was once a time when we were put on a waiting list if we wanted to buy a SteamDeck. I had to wait 4 months and was as happy as a child when I received the famous email that it was my turn!
Nice to see that they can ship the OLED versions so quickly!
Good luck waiting and have fun with the SteamDeck!
Of course it depends a lot on your taste in games, but if I look at my top 5 based on playing time on the Steam deck:
Based on whether the games appear to be made for the Deck, work without any modifications or problems:
That the deck is more freaking fantastic that I hoped it would be! After 1,5 year I still Iove it everyday!
