iPhone 14 or Samsung FE 23? Need help

My husbands birthday is soon and I’m trying to decide whether to buy him an iPhone 14 or the Samsung FE 23. Currently he has the Samsung A13 5g. It’s an ok phone (good screen size/battery but mediocre cameras) he has had Samsungs nearly anytime he buys a phone except one iPhone. He likes iMessage and iPhone cameras but likes the looks of Samsung design/screens more. The last flagship Samsung he had was the S8, so it’s been awhile since he’s experienced a really good phone.

Does anyone have suggestions? We aren’t flagship people but want to invest in a phone that will last a few years.

    If he is already using an iPhone it will be hard transition for him switching away from iMessage and getting used to a new system but it’s your call. I would stay safe and get him an iPhone upgrading.

    What is the prices are like ? I feel the 14 is better value for money. A15 and 6gb of ram will last him quite a while and the cameras on the iphone are better than on fe.

    Why the S23 FE, your comparing a flagship to a midrange. Get him an s23, its still cheaper than the 14 /same price.

    Honestly, why not a regular s23? The price should be very similar to both s23fe and iphone 14, but the specs are much better than what the FE has. And between s23 and iphone 14 i don’t think either is a clear winner.

    It is very difficult to know exactly what kind of phone would he want. Maybe if you have a computer you both use, you can see if he was interested in any of the above phones? Or maybe ask his friends, a lot of the guys will use whatever they have but during conversation they would give out what kind of phone they would want (depends on people though; some guy talk about tech, some do not).

    Real answer is if a gun is pointed at your head to choose 1 choose the iPhone 14 but logical answer is spend 50 extra bucks and get the S23 base.
