I’m a 13 year old and my parents can’t afford a oled model so I was wondering should I save my money and get wait for the oled model to drop down or just get the lcd for Christmas

The LCD Steam Deck just got a huge software update which improved a lot it’s weakest point : dull colors on the screen. Now colors are much more vibrant.
So frankly if I was 13 again… I would just LOVE to get a LCD Steam Deck for christmas. You are a lucky boy (or girl I don’t know) ! Say thank you to your parents, this is already a lot of money. And a very fine gift !
If I were getting a Deck I’d try my best to get the 512gb OLED. I’ve had the LCD Deck for over a year now and I have no reason to get the OLED but if I had NO Deck, I would go for it.
If I was 13 years old i would totally be ok with the LCD model they play the same games. Buy midrange lcd 256gb and get a 1tb sd card

Given your age I would get the LCD model and save your money for games.
You’ll be super happy with it. I just picked one up myself with the price drop. The extra $100+ just went towards games and I have no regrets. The OLED is a nice-to-have but it’s not like it just made the thousands of decks out there obsolete. Grab a cheap one, a nice big ssd or SD card, and enjoy.
I have the LCD model and love it. I am not buying another model until they update the processor (so not buying the OLED). You’ll love it. Let your parents get you one for Christmas.
Try and find one used on market place people are selling lcd steam decks they swapped 1tb hard drives into. I found one yesterday 1tb ssd and a pile of accessories for $400 that’s a deal. Other wise I would try and save a few dollars and get the rest for the OLED. OLED is just far superior
