I have previously owned the RoG Ally, and while I was impressed with it, I did not like dealing with windows and the battery life was terrible. I’ve decided to go with a Steam Deck since they announced the OLED model. I do not play very demanding games (Bethesda fanboy here, and I do love emulation).

What I’m looking for are tips and tricks to get the best performance out of my new SD. On the Ally, it was dropping resolution to 900p and using HyperX upscaling. I’ll be honest, my most played console is the Switch OLED, so I’m fine with mediocrity in screen resolution. All I care about is consistent Framerate (not a 60fps snob).

Any tips are appreciated.

You can try launching a game in 4:3 resolution and then set the scaling mode to “stretch” and scaling filter to fsr. SD’s screen is 16:10 so 4:3 stretching would look less weird than on 16:9, at least for me.
