- Try Proton experimental
- Try this command in the launching options: PROTON_ENABLE_AMD_AGS=1 %command%
How old is your lcd deck? It may have degraded battery or some issue with controller tbh. 70 mins is too low
You can try launching a game in 4:3 resolution and then set the scaling mode to “stretch” and scaling filter to fsr. SD’s screen is 16:10 so 4:3 stretching would look less weird than on 16:9, at least for me.
You can if you have Micron ram chips and lucky with silicon lottery. However if you’re not lucky your deck would be bricked and you would have to reflash bios with a chip programmer

Tbh I think the strength of SteamOS is that it’s tailored for Steam Deck. Imo there’s no need for general edition, people already can choose from plenty of gaming oriented linux distros if they want. SteamOS can be left as a device specific OS for devices like deck, possible steam machines 2 or other handhelds (as long as it’s open source)
I would say that putting a 16:10 on SD was really clever decision from Valve. It solves a lot of issues. It looks better when natively supported, it looks better when running anything 4:3. It feels fine running anything 16:9.
More than that. Since SteamOS 3.5 it finally becomes possible to stretch the screen so you can fill the black bars. And here’s the thing: you can run games on 4:3 resolutions, stretch them to remove black bars and use FSR. While you think that it’d look weird, thanks to screen being 16:10 it will actually look better than you’d expect. As an advantage: better battery life and performance
Maybe, but since OLED also has smaller APU and better thermals, it’s overclocking potential should be higher than LCD. I don’t think it’d be possible to OC memory on OLED, because on LCD you can’t OC ram to more than 6400 MT/s and OLED comes with that from factory, but you probably would be able to set more aggresive power modes or increase TDP >15w or increase clocks etc just a little.
To anyone who was on 3.5.1 before this is how you can rollback for those who don’t know:
