Presume this is what you need installed instead of the previous 3.5 beta? To do a SSD transplant from old to new steam deck…
Maybe just me but starfield seems to run WAY better on this update.
PSA : if you set your VRAM to 4 GB, it reverted it to 1GB. And also I think it removed the fan profile toggle and the fan is noisy af now
Removed altogether or just changed the setting back to ‘enabled’?
The setting is there, it’s just not working for me.
I went back to 3.4.11 Stable and I confirm the fan is much more quiet thant the preview.
This also reverted my UV
Anyone reading this who hasn’t updated yet, I’d avoid updating if you can. It’s broken the fixed colour profile and the boosted vibrancy mode. My deck is back to washed out colours. Didn’t actually realise how well the vibrancy update worked until I lost it lol. Tried switching back to beta and stable etc and nothings working, in fact the colour adjustment option is now just missing from the display setting page entirely. Wait til they fix before updating.
How do you avoid updating?
Do you have to switch off the Preview channel or will there be a prompt to upgrade we can simply ignore for now?I think by just not clicking apply it should be fine but I don’t know if updates will sometimes automatically apply e.g. after a full shut down and reboot, I usually manually update quite soon after it’s released
It’s still present in ⚙️ Settings › Display › Adjust Display Colors
There’s also a new toggle Use Native Color Temperature under Advanced
Wait, what does ‘Use native color temperature’ do?
Ever since I have switched to the preview channel, every single update immediately says there is a new update. It will say I have the newest build, the one it is trying to install again, yet still try to install it again. It’ll reboot, then immediately ask me to do it again. I keep waiting for this to get fixed, am I the only one with this issue?
I paid 680 euros for my 512gb Deck around last September and only slightly over a year later the price drops by over 200 and there’s an OLED version that’s still cheaper than what I paid
I need to stop buying hardware when it’s new
And even then it was cheap compared to the other products that are available. I too want an oled but i guess im sticking with it until they release a rdna3 apu
I bought my steam deck less than six weeks ago. So I’m a little bummed, but it’s not that worrisome.
As one of the people who thought 3.5 would come out this week, I nearly laughed out loud reading this. This update just refuses to come out.
By February, we’ll be saying “if Gabe sees his shadow, six more weeks of Preview.”
Here’s hoping they fix that GPU reset bug when allow tearing is on
Any more details you can link to on this specific bug?
So I’ve broken a game by jacking up the refresh rate to 90hz which obviously the OG deck does not support. What’s the quick fix here? Anyone know where per game steamdeck settings are kept?
My fan is going balls out, so I’ll probably wait for an update, no time to tweak now.
However, I will say I was playing Dead Island remaster just a few minutes before updating… and getting lots of drops below 60 all the time. After update it’s just totally capped 60 as I sprint around.
Yup getting this too, is there a way to downgrade to 3.5.1?
To anyone who was on 3.5.1 before this is how you can rollback for those who don’t know:
https://youtu.be/AN_-Bn1Elz4How does it run Hollow Knight? I need it to run poorly. Tell me it runs poorly, I beg of you.
