I’ve heard that there are several ways to get other game services on the deck. In a video i saw they used an app from Github called NonSteamLaunchers to install Epic Games Store, Battle.net, EA App and some others through Proton GE. Seems easy enough but what are the drawbacks of this? I guess some games might not function well through Proton? Are you at risk of getting banned from the services for running them through Proton?

As for PC Gamepass, am I correct in guessing I need to install Windows to use it (I do not want to stream games)? How well does dual booting work on the deck? I read that official support for dual booting is coming in the future, what difference does that make from current dual booting support?

Hey I’m the creator of NonSteamLaunchers, all my script does is install the launchers as if you did it manually yourself. It uses GE -Proton to install them that way you’re able to run the games with the most update fixes in the proton layer. However both Lutris and Heroic are far more advanced than my own. Don’t be scared to try and see what’s best for you. My script will always be clean and free of anything unnecessary when you install the launchers. My script also isn’t perfect but I’m still working at it! The plug-in for deck loader is currently in the testing store as well.

Gamepass works via cloud streaming. Microsoft has instructions on how to get it working.

To download and install gamepass games, you’ll need to install windows

Not sure why you got downvoted but the Microsoft way through edge is working perfectly for game pass

Yep. They even have instruction on how to get the banners/logos into the Steam UI.

The cloud streaming is actually quite good and I have played quite a few games that way.

Download Lutris from the app finder in desktop mode, then you can add the launcher shortcuts to steam after installing them

Epic and GOG work really well with the heroic launcher, the Gamepass only works via streaming (since its Microsoft) and i believe the EA App can be installed via proton (starting the installer exe through proton like you start a windows game)

I used heroic launcher for epic, EA play, uplay and gamepass (cloud).

All work fine except for the EA App which break’s periodically.

Heroic launcher so far has worked for epic gog and amazon games. I had an issue playing games from amazon, specially old scummv games like escape from monkey island, but after their last update to the kaincher and peoton/ge proton update as well they all run fine.

The only issue is controller layouts for different types of games. But its just me being lazy and not linking the games to launch directly from steam.
