My S20+ has a broken (and unusable) screen, so I decided to change phones. I found the z Flip 5 and the s23+ for the same price on a black friday sale, and I don’t know which one to choose.
The s23+ has better cameras, but the z flip seems fun and something new. And I simply don’t know which one to pick, so I need some opinions to help me decide. Which one would you go for, considering they cost the same? Why?

If you are just your regular phone user everyday, then the 23 is nice enough. I think it depends on what you like to do. I will say YouTube and watching things is nice on the Z and it is something different for sure. Pretty handy for what it is. I will have to say that one. I think you could like it.
Also the speaker is pretty nice on them. I will say the only thing I have heard off and on about it is the battery life. I think it still gets a average day out of it.
I have a family member who got one of the Z folds and he loves it.23 plus, the flip is just a gimmik.

My friend recently sold their Flip because they were fed up of having to open it every time they wanted to use it… Guess the gimmick wares off 😂😂
There’s one Flip feature considered a gimmick but good for the right person: making a video then seeing yourself at the same time while you vlog away.

I’d go for the 23. I feel like the flip is just a gimmick and from an engineering perspective just another point of error aka an extra thing to potentially break on the phone.
Yeah I have flip 5 it’s cool and all but Camera stops at 1x and battery life is okay.
S23+. Flips are fashion pieces not phones. I say this as someone who had a Z Flip 4 and currently have a Z Fold 5. The folds have function. Flips don’t
Flip5 and S23+ where the same price where I bought the S23+. Didn’t buy the Flip5 because it has no DEX.
The Flip5 is like the perfect form factor for DEX. And yet for some reason it’s the only Z or S line Samsung missing DEX. Confusing 🤷♂️
The Flip5 will probably be less durable then the S23+ aswell. Battery life I could probably live with.
S23 plus. I have the flip 5 and I really miss the telephoto lens. Also, trying to find a good case for the flip is very annoying because it’s 2 parts.
S23 100%. I love the Flip and I was tempted so many times but I just don’t trust Flip/Fold for the longevity
