I used to put a rally point in the corner of the map and just spam rocketeers. My opponent would destroy my base and type GG, then a swarm of rocketeers would glass their entire army and base. If you make enough they’re completely unstoppable!

Only if they suck and have no anti air, and keep the crappy game mode on that the game doesn’t end after the last enemy base is destroyed! A good swarm of rocketeers are fun tho, they look like little bees

You gotta build a second base and barracks near your secret swarm. But a big enough swarm will destroy even a heavily defended anti-air base. They have an extremely high rate of fire and a big swarm will chew up AA in seconds.

This. IIRC Soviet flak cannon had a slow rate of fire. But the flak tracks were pretty decent? I used to play as Korea and spam their Harriers. Rocketeers would have been more fun though.

I’ve seen a horde of flak tracks melted by a rocketeer swarm in a few seconds. The sheer number of rocketeers and their evasive action is a sight to behold. I don’t think the flalnhad an aeo, it hits only a few targets.

Oh sweet a new way to kill people. I had just been thinking to myself that 2023 is about to come to an end and humanity had barely even invented any new ways to kill people this year.

Oh we have plenty, but until someone squares up on the US they keep it under wraps. Ukraine is getting the old shit and it is still crazy

The UKs tax dollars are at work then, their healthcare system always under threat and education system is getting more expensive by the year as well. Also, I doubt it will be long before the usa spends a few billion on these

Utterly worthless against an armed target, of course.

Try it against somebody standing stationary on the ground with a rifle while you try to line up a pistol shot in a jetpack that’s jittering around.

For 50 years we have been using helos to drop people to do so the same tasks, are those folk hanging out of the helo more or less vulnerable?

OK, the right reply this time.

Yes: soldiers fast-roping out of helicopters are indeed seriously vulnerable to fire from the ground. That’s why if they do that when they know there are people with guns on the ground, they will lay down heavy suppressing fire from the choppers or other methods of suppression. Also, it’s called “fast-roping” for a reason: you get your ass to the ground just as fast as possible, which means that if anyone is shooting at you, you try to make yourself a very difficult target to hit.

But a guy in a jetpack doesn’t have that option, he’s trying to keep the rig steady so he can line up his own shot. Without suppressing fire from other sources, the jetpack guy is boned.
