Im thinking of getting a s22 base variant.

My current device is iPhone 12(which Im okay with for the most part). The reasons i want to try out the samsung is cause of the telephoto lens and side loading

But I’m kinda concerned about the battery life and over heating issues which s22 is known for at this point.

My question is should i really switch or not?

If you can then try to buy the s22Ultra or at least the s23

Because base varients will lack some features (1440p display less battery and inferior camera )

But s23 has a good processor which overall is as good as s22U.

But if money is not a problem then s23 will be the best choice as it is perfect

But the big advantage of the S23 is its size. I would appreciate the camera from S23U but could not stand that size. Even though I have quite big hands, the Ultra and Plus models is too big for me to carry it comfortably in pockets or use it with one hand.

that’s out of budget for my broke ass although I do like 14 pros but I just don’t see myself getting the most out of it.

As others have said, wait and save for the S23 instead. The SOC is excellent both in terms of performance and battery life. If it is outside of your budget currently, consider if you can hold out until the S24 launches early next year?

Stick with your iPhone. I switched to Samsung and regretted it after. I’m back on my iPhone 12P myself after trying the s23.

I have moved from Pixel 7 to S23 and the eperi is quite awesome. Good that I didn’t took the Pixel 8. S22 is good but the battery performance is not yet to the mark.

Well if your iphone is holding on you should really wait to save up because you only need to buy a good phone once for like the next five years.

Howevery if you want to be adventurous you can check out the nothing phone 2

I don’t wanna risk my “nice” android camera with a hardware that I’m not a big fan of but thanks for the suggestion.

Also it ain’t available in my country and prolly wont be for a long time.

Don’t get the S23 please. You will regret it due to the bad battery + bad thermals in the device. Samsung got generations like the 22 where it’s better to skip.

Known some people who would buy the bad generations of Samsung and hate Samsung for it, expecting all the other devices to be that bad too. It’s not, you just got a bad generation.

Personally held out getting the S21 and the S22, to get the S23. Also don’t get the S23 FE, if you really want you can, but it’s no better than your current iPhone 12. It’s closer to a A54 Upgraded
