for $250 with just web browsing and texting? definitely worth it. the chip isn’t exactly efficient but it should be perfectly fine for that kind of usage.

the first one ever was a Galaxy Gio, but it was horrible lol. Incredibly slow and laggy, but i got it 2nd hand after my sister used it and well, she wasn’t exactly careful with it. Didn’t use it for very long.
My first real “new” Samsung phone i owned by myself was the Galaxy S6, but unfortunately i dropped it screen-first on the stone ground, and the screen became unresponsive and turned purple. Didn’t have a crack in the screen, but i guess it got fucked up internally. Then didn’t get another Samsung phone until the S22 Ultra
on S22 Ultra here, OneUI 6 has improved my experience. increased battery life, animations tend to be smoother and less laggy and the phone doesn’t get as hot as it used to (at least, i feel like it doesn’t get as hot anymore but maybe I’m imagining that part).
The only complaint i have is with the blurred background of the quick panel/notification centre being light instead of dark like it used to be. but that’s probably something i can tweak with Goodlock so it’s not a big deal to me
you’ll be able to change the icon size with goodlock once the goodlock devs have updated all the apps for proper android 14 support. Also, you’ll get used to the emojis lol
you can use a goodlock module to change the size of icons. Goodlock devs are currently working on making them all work with Android 14, so should be available soon
I’m super happy with the update as well! I’m on S22 Ultra, got roughly 7 hours of SOT, from 100% to 20%, including gaming and Tiktok. A big improvement of what I got on Android 13/One UI 5.1.
And like you said, everything is fast and smooth. I also feel like my phone doesn’t get hot as quickly, but I could just be imagining that lol.
Anyway, yeah, amazing update :)
i like the new emojis. look more in line with those of Apple, just a bit more cartoonish.
Anyway, i think there are ways of changing your emojis, but i could never get it to work. People said you could get Google emojis by applying Gboard, but that never worked for me. but maybe it will for you.
pretty sure it’s confirmed messages from other platforms will still be green through RCS
i switched from Xiaomi to Google a year ago, and had to get used to Samsung’s emojis because i thought they were ugly. Now I really like Samsung’s emojis.
It just takes time to get used to. I’m sure in a few weeks you’ll be used to them just fine
…did you mean to tell them to not get the S23? or is that supposed to say S22 lol
The S23 series are small? they’re the exact same sizes as the S22 series lol, and the S23+ is 6.6 inches. that’s not “small”. And it’s only an inch smaller than the S21+
what are you doing on your s23+ that causes consistent freezing?
