amazed lawsuits against chinese companies have actually succeeded at all recently, tho thats mostly been the multitude of ones that do knockoffs of other peoples products, this would be the first normal one ive seen, not sure what will happen, they could potentially still ignore it.

They can ignore the lawsuits if they want, but Valve can’t sell anything with the screens if Samsung gets their way.

Rooting for Samsung then! Would be great to force Valve to avoid BOE and not have to deal with panel lottery, though it’s too late for the already produced decks.

Even if BOE is at fault for making displays similar to Samsung - their fault rate is not a high as Samsung. Also Samsung is pretty scummy recently with their qc and warranties.

I highly prefer to get Sharp or BOE displays and people usually have problems with lower quality bins. Price could be similar between A grade of BOE and A+ of Samsung since Samsung undercuts prices to gain market share.

I wouldn’t vouch for Samsung here. Market loses if they actually win.

Valve did LE buyers dirty, first with them saying it’s “extremely limited” then dumping all the shit panels on us

Why is saying it’s limited and then having enough in stock ‘doing LE buyers dirty’? If it’s a limited run it’s a limited run and that’s it. The screens however…
