Creator of the tech tool showed on a live stream that the performance improvement is negligible

No performance benefits with this tool and 4gb of VRAM bios tweak also doesn’t improve performance like it used to.

Mostly due to the 3,5,5 bios update it seams. Still a good tool for saving space but I’m going to skip when my oled arrives

    That’s not professional news 362! It’s deathblade!

He would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for us meddling kids!

After 3.5.5 there were time where I noticed, that 4gb vram and cryoutilities was actually hurting performance. It made me lose a few fps in Witcher 3 and was more stuttery.

same here, games on 3.5.5 with cryoutilities were super stuttery, I mean the fps was good, but frametimes and lags were awful, almost unplayable, I’d rather have less fps than consistent lags

cryo performance boosts were always a waste of time. it was only good for making some games work but in most cases it didnt do enough to make a difference.

you think if it did, valve wouldnt just make it default?

Nah, I definitely noticed a significance when I installed it. SF6 keeps crashing on me when I play with graphics on high, and I refuse to play with lower settings. Once I installed CryoByte, that became a thing of the past, at least for now. World Tour mode feels even more smoother than it did on the LCD.

OP you should delete this post. It’s going to cause mass confusion and you completely got it wrong.

Damn. I really hate this community. People here calling love projects from people, who do these things in their private times, shit and dead. It’s just sad. Be happy that the new Valve Update and the OLED-Version happened, but that doesn’t change the fact that these people made gifts for us. Don’t be a little shit about it.

So I thought that the fps gain wasn’t huge, but it overall smoothed out the frame dips. It made the stutter and drop in frame rate alot less noticeable.

I ran it. The guy has a lot of experience in Linux so I’ll take the tweaks. If they help then great I’ll enjoy those benefits because it takes like 10 seconds to apply them all, if there’s no benefit then the tweaks don’t even hurt anything. So if there’s possible gain in some manner of performance or hardware longevity due to the changes to swap and such then I’ll take it.

Hmm I’m not sure about using cryo this time for oled maybe once he’s done more testing. I’ll test myself with my games as vanilla oled first & see how it holds up. Probably worth just installing anyway though as I can turn it on or off at anytime too! 😁

RIP. The value of his utility is up for debate, but the quality of his settings recommendations and hard work on optimizing the deck should not be!

Even without tweaks his utility still has functionality. I use it all the time for shader cleanup and moving stuff to and from SD card.
