To begin, my entire household is Google. I have Google TVs on my TVs, Samsung tablet, Google Home tablet thingy, 4 Google speakers, Nest thermostat, and my wife and I have Samsung phones. Neither of us have ever owned an iPhone.

Nothing against them at all, theyre just not my thing. And she had a Galaxy S2 when I met her.

But let’s be real, Android tablets SUCK. I had a Tab 3 I believe and my kids Tab A 10.1 inch just died recently for no reason. Even when they did work, they were slow. Way too slow.

Now I’m not switching to iPhone, not in 10 years. But they got this tablet thing DOWN. We use iPads at work and they were recently updated, but even the new ones are just as fast as the old ones. I noticed nothing new. Which in my opinion is great.

So would it make sense to have an iPad for my kids to use at home? I’m also really interested in Air Tags.

iPads are superior for stuff like art/music.

For general use android tablets are more than capable.

i am using tab a9 plus 8/128 and i just love it, even though it’s an entry level. i don’t get the hate android tablets get, they fulfill their jobs perfectly.

If you can live with the fact that ipads are singl-user devices then i guess they could be considered “better” than the high-end android tablets. It’s a big limitation in my mind though.

Yes I use an iPad air with the M1 chip. App support and processors are two areas where I found apple tablets to be great.

I’ve owned several models of iPads and several Android tablets.

I don’t know how you can say android tablets suck. We’re not in the Nexus 7 or Amazon Fire days anymore, Galaxy Tab S9 has a better screen, better multi-tasking, a desktop mode, ability to sideload, etc. On top of generally having the better ratio for media consumption

iPad’s strength is in its exclusive apps. That’s… About it.

I rock a Samsung S23 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 5 and an 11" iPad Pro.

I don’t care what anyone says, iPads are awesome.

    Do it.

I’ve said before in a different post - iOS is great for tablet-sized devices. It’s super easy to use - UI is on point. And naturally apps work really well on it like they do whenever anyone compares iOS to Android equivalent apps.

It’s too basic and boring (in my view) for iPhones, and definitely not for full size PC / laptop screens.

I have an iPad Pro. It was a pandemic purchase. I wanted to start drawing and it’s hard to beat the Apple Pencil/iPad Pro/Procreate combination.

This is coming from someone who is fairly anti-Apple because of previous bad experiences (I didn’t realize uninstalling an app would delete all the data it created, not sure if that’s changed) and the restrictive nature of its OS.

I have an iPad Air 5th gen and the Samung Galaxy Tab S9+, and honestly for me, it just comes down to preference. I was gifted the iPad a year ago, but since most of my devices are samsung where they can be, I recently picked up the Tab S9+. I don’t care for iOS much, so I prefer the Samsung.

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 and an iPad Mini 6 but I much prefer my Samsung Tab S9+ (now on Android 14). I haven’t touched the iPads in a long time since I got it.

If you haven’t tried a flagship Android tablet like this, you are missing out. It has nothing to to with older tablets that you mentioned.

Tab S9+ has an amazing OLED screen and is very smooth (120hz). It has the incredible specs (I have the 12GB RAM 512GB 5G version) and it’s very versatile. And with the Samsung keyboard case (detachable keyboard, variable stand) and DeX mode it can work as a laptop much more than an iPad.

I agree iPads are reliable and easy to use and make a good choice for kids to use at home.

But saying Samsung tablets are bad is just wrong.

I have an A8 tablet and love it. It’s got a great screen, plenty of storage, and an SD card. I haven’t owned an apple product in decades and don’t feel a need to. Our phones are Samsung, nest thermostat, Echoes in the house, Google TVs and Roku.

Have a tab s7 but the whole family calls it an iPad. So much so that I have to refer to it as that so they know what I mean.

Funny thing, it started with an iPad for me, now I’m using an iPhone, have Apple TV 4K and a HomePod.

With that said, I’ve never been as happy with an Android or a Windows tablet as I am with the iPad.
