I’m trying to upload roms to my SD card, so I can play emulators on my Steam deck,But my computer keeps asking me to format SD card, i already have the roms downloaded. Has anyone else run into this/found a solution for this?

The steamdeck formats your sd card to Linux I believe so you can’t use it between a windows and a steam deck.

You’ll have to transfer either using an external HDD / SSD via USB-C, or you can transfer wirelessly using something like Syncthing or KDE Connect.

The steamdeck uses … I forget which linux filesystem for the SD card, I think btrfs. But Windows can’t natively recognize it. You’re best bet is to use one of the many ways to transfer stuff over USB or network to your deck.

EXT4, there are/were various winblows packages to add EXT4 support to windows, never used any so no idea if they work 100% or have weird quirks.

If your computer runs Windows, you need to install an ext4 filesystem driver to be able to read and write to the card after it was formatted in the Steam Deck.
