Hi everyone, I really want a Samsung 23 Ultra phone; it looks so cute. However, I don’t use any form of social media such as tiktok or intsagram. Every time I go to the store, I feel guilty about wanting it because I most likely will not use the phone for its intended purposes other than texting, making calls, and basic functions. So I’d like to hear people’s opinions who have this phone, especially if there are others who do not use social media.

Well it’s a great camera too and is great for watching videos. I love mine. The screen is holding up really well for scratches and I’ve dropped it loads and it hasn’t been damaged yet. I use a Spigen clear case.

Get one with the most memory you can preferably atleast 512gb version.

I just got mine two days ago and I am loving it so far. The camera is insane, especially for zoom. So much better than my iPhone 14 Pro. I don’t use social media much, just some Reddit and Twitter, I mainly do basic phone things but I do like to play emulators and I also have found myself using split screen apps more than I thought I would. Shop around and see what kind of deals you can get. Samsung gave me $700 off for trading in my iPhone (I probably could’ve gotten like $50 more selling it but the hassle isn’t worth that extra $50) and an additional $150 off because I am a student, so I paid $350 for this phone basically, and then they threw in the Galaxy Watch 6 for $165 and Galaxy Buds for $50, although I forget which ones since I didn’t take them because I have Linkbuds S from Sony. So yeah I would say it’s worth it especially if you can get a good deal.

The intended purpose of the S23 Ultra is Social Media. Is it?

It’s been more than 10 days since I started using this awesome phone and the features I found productive were namely:

    1. Samsung Dex: This is a full desktop experience you get on your PC, Monitor, or even your hall TV. I use it mainly with my Windows PC to open apps that are supported only for Android on a bigger screen and even operate it with the help of an integrated mouse and keyboard. One more thing I like about this is say I am on my laptop with my Samsung Dex listening to some good music on an app that’s not supported in Windows, my earphones are connected to the Laptop but then I find out something to watch on my S23 Ultra, normally it is like u have to disconnect from your pc and then connect your earphones to your phone manually if you don’t have galaxy buds but with Samsung Dex on, I can listen to both of my devices at the same time and its buttery smooth. I literally love this feature.

    2. Link to Windows: With Samsung S23 Ultra, you get cross-platform copy & paste and Drag and drop features too. These are not available for all Android devices, Seems Samsung Flagships work way better with Windows.

    (a) Cross-Platform Copy& Paste: You can copy anything from your phone to your PC and vice versa. In my old Android device, I used to have an app called “Clipt” for solely this purpose but it used to take about 2-3 seconds to copy and paste it and if images were there then it would take longer. Anything is better than nothing so I used it, sadly they discontinued it. But with S23 Ultra it’s just so quick, like I copy it here and it gets available on my PC right at that instant. This is so seamless :)

    (b) Drag&drop: You can mirror your phone on your laptop, This one is a bit laggy, and not that smooth like Samsung Dex, but it serves the purpose, and you can easily open any folder in your file manager right on your laptop and drag and drop files between them.

    1. Samsung Wallet (I love how u can triple tap the back of your phone to open it while on the home screen or just simply swipe up from the bottom in the lock screen): No more opening different payment apps like Paytm, there you have to find the option of payment through Paytm wallet and then scan the QR code, However with Samsung Wallet, It takes one swipe up and there will be a bunch of payment option that you can use and it’s so on point, in the single card like screen you have to option to check balance, scan QR code, send Money, add Money. I just love it.

P.S. That triple tap to open Samsung Wallet is not on by default, I have customized it that way through GoodLock.

    1. Calls: There is a function of Bixby text call, if you are in a meeting and u can’t pick up the phone then Bixby can talk on your behalf and that’s good. I have used it once/ twice and i like it.

    2. S-Pen: You may have heard of this once or twice while searching about features of this phone, It’s one of the best features I have come across till now. However, I will tell you about some that I found out:

    (a) You can use it to take notes while the display is off

    (b) There are various gestures that are possible with S-Pen and u can use it just like a Wand from Harry Potter. Yes, there is even customization for different sounds like some spells and the pen icon on the screen, you can change it into a wand. It looks fun to use like that.

    1. Quick Share: This works better with the Samsung Ecosystem but one of its features that even People who just stepped into the World of Samsung can use is its share via QR code, behind the scenes what happens is Your document gets uploaded on Samsung Cloud and the person scanning the QR code can download it .

These are some features I came across on my first Samsung Phone. I don’t know if all of these are flagship-exclusive features or not. Kindly let me know if there are more productive features in this phone that i have yet to give a try.

Thanks for reading this far. Have a great day ahead :))

Do you enjoy taking photos? If t yes then the Ultra is a great option. You can do social media on any phone but the Ultra’s advantage is the camera. You can still get the regular S23 or S23+ which is great too.

Stop feeling guilty and buy it, as long as you can afford it and that doesn’t mean financing.

Social media…what is that? I use it mostly for emails, remote access to my servers, taking pictures and editing them, some 3D editing, lots of calculations (big screen is a plus when plotting curves).

Hmmm. It has more value than iphone if you don’t use soc med. But if you don’t want to use dex, thw camera, play on your phone then definitely not.

If you can afford it, just buy it. It’s made for everyone and anyone who can afford it. People don’t care what you use and how you use your phone. Just use it as how you always do, it won’t harm anybody. I hope I can afford it one day

Honestly, the ultras are way more powerful than what most people ever need. I have an s21 ultra and I love it, but I can’t see any real benefits to it over my wife’s s21, other than the 10x telephoto (which I’ve used a handful of times).

One thing to consider is my s21 ultra is still outpacing/on par with the current s23 or pixel 8 etc. So you do get some longevity.

But I rarely play games. I take a lot of photos but only of my kids to send to family, so nothing that gets blown up. I think an S23/Pixel 8 is still more than what most people need and most people would be satisfied with

Absolutely, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still worth it even if you don’t use social media apps. Its advanced features, excellent camera, and powerful performance cater to various needs beyond social media, ensuring you get a premium smartphone experience for your everyday tasks like texting, calls, and more.
