You can do it with the RefreshRateUnlocker, but if go down to 30hz, you get noticeable PWM strobing on the Display, so it looks like the screen is flickering.
Hell, you get PWM strobing at 40hz, but it’s usually not noticeable if you’re 100% focused on the screen. If you glance at the Deck at 40hz out of the corner of your eye, it’s really distracting, IMO.
If I can get 40, I usually like to turn down settings and try to get 45. If I can’t get 40 reliably anyway, I just accept 30 with 60hz to avoid the distracting flicker.
I have a feeling I am more sensitive to it than most people though. For example, when I saw Oppenheimer on 70mm film, the strobing was very distracting to me, but the people I went with didn’t notice it at all.
Agreed. I don’t play at anything under 40fps on the Deck. Tried Starfield at 30 and it was annoying. Ended up streaming from PC to Deck when I actually wanted to play Starfield handheld.
Wish you could drop the refresh rate to 30 to save power on 30fps games, Starfield would really benefit from the extra juice saved

Yeah, I noticed that as well.
I can’t deal with 30fps on the Deck though, the input lag is just way too high.
