It’s heavily discounted on Steam today, but I’ve heard the EA launcher causes issues when playing/launching on Deck?

What’s it really like?

ME1 works fine but I’m finding the frame rate inconsistent.

    Indoors, 60 but stuttering to 58. Outdoors, 40 - 49.

I’ve set it to 40 locked when undocked, but it still drops and stutters to 37 when changing scenes.

Docked, the frame limit on the Deck is released and you e only the in game framerate limiters, which is 30 or 60.

It’s unreal Engine, it’s expected to get the occasional frame time spike here and there especially when loading a new area. A top tier machine would have those same spikes, mass effect 1 does tend to have some more spikes, though. I never had issues that bad in the first game, I was using 4GB VRAM and cryoutilities 2.0.

As for frame rate I got 60 indoors and about low 50s to 60 outdoors. However, i was hitting 60 more often than not. There is one specific area in the citadel (not a combat area) where FPS drops to the low 40s.

Mass effect 2 and 3 are flawless, you shouldn’t drop below 60fps at all. Small frame time spikes only occurring when loading a new area.

I played all games at 50hz to extend the battery life.

Lock CPU frequency to the max with powertool, and even the presidium stay at 60Fps, the IGPU is only half used everywhere but CPU idle throttle hurts the framerate
