I ran god of War from start to end at 40 FPS, original quality and resolution scale to 80%
HZD same, but a bit harder, mostly 30-40 with 25 dips, as the game engine got serious issues on almost every platform
R&C, TLOU, Uncharted:LOT and spider-mans are untested for me as i’m waiting GOG versions …
Why do you want usb4/TB on a deck? the CPU is too weak to drive any modern powerfull GPU efficiently, eGPU support is limited to Intel ARC and Radeon if i remember right, NVIDIA is out due to SteamOS specificities
If you want something similar, boot from sd card and use m.2 to oculink adapter
Is even “deckbian” a thing? I’ve made a basic SteamOS debian build for personnal use and it’s far from finished, can’t seem to find anything named this way
IMO, valve will keep it’s recipe, not bleeding edge CPU arch at release, in at least 2 years, hybrid zenX+zenXc will still be an improvement over zen2, the GPU will be the last, or close to, IGPU from AMD (RDNA4 ?)
If they want to improve processing power, at least 6 total CPU core (2+4), 8Cu and a better and faster memory subsystem is essential, Z1 vs Z1x shown how much the memory subsystem can held back a chip. 24GB of LPDDR5X at 7500MHz over a 192bit bus (custom engineered memory controller like the ps5), HBM would be both overkill and overpriced, even if it’s no a bad Idea with an MCM architecture and could potentially resolve bandwidth bottleneck once and for all
Skiping pcie generation upgrade would be great, not much visible gain between pcie3,4 and 5 storage wise to justify the higher power draw
And in personnaly Hope for an USB 4 full compatibility to enable Real external docks, with speedy nvme and potentially egpu

No, not affordable for me, i’ll save some money and wait 2 years, if deck 2 offer better performances with similar features to “deck+” the i’ll pull the trigger. But at this moment, i’ve spend 500€ for deck with the device, 1TB PM991a SSD and the dock. The deck is already a bit weak for last AAA games, so why putting that much for the same limitations?
Lock CPU frequency to the max with powertool, and even the presidium stay at 60Fps, the IGPU is only half used everywhere but CPU idle throttle hurts the framerate
Not sure i want it if i got to drop smokeless unlocks. IS there a way to prevent bios updates?
